Custom Domain Setup

Share galleries from your own domain, like audio.yourcompany.com instead of happyhearaudio.com.

Available on all plans. Once set up, all gallery links you send will use your domain automatically.

How it works

  1. 1Enter your domain in Settings → Branding → Custom Domain and click Save.
  2. 2Go to your domain provider (GoDaddy, Squarespace, Cloudflare, etc.) and add one DNS record.
  3. 3Wait a few minutes for the change to take effect.
  4. 4That's it, every gallery you send now uses your domain.

The DNS record you need to add

TypeCNAMENameaudio (or whatever subdomain you chose)Valuecname.vercel-dns.comTTLAuto or 3600

Copy the Value exactly, one typo will prevent it from working.

Common questions

How long does it take to go live?
Usually within a few minutes. In rare cases it can take up to 24-48 hours depending on your DNS provider. This is normal, it's just time for the internet to update.
What subdomain should I use?
Anything works: audio, gallery, memories, listen, or your company name. Most operators use "audio" (audio.yourcompany.com) or "gallery" (gallery.yourcompany.com).
Can I use my root domain (yourcompany.com without a subdomain)?
We recommend using a subdomain (like audio.yourcompany.com) rather than your root domain. Root domains require a different DNS record type (A record) that may conflict with your existing website.
Will my existing website still work?
Yes. You're only adding a new subdomain, nothing on your existing website or root domain is changed.
My domain host isn't listed here. Can I still do this?
Yes. Any domain host that supports CNAME records will work. Look for "DNS Records," "DNS Management," or "Advanced DNS" in your domain host's settings. Add a CNAME record pointing to cname.vercel-dns.com.
The Cloudflare proxy (orange cloud): why must it be off?
Cloudflare's proxy intercepts traffic and can block the SSL certificate verification that Vercel needs. With the proxy off (grey cloud), traffic goes directly to our servers. Everything still works, you just don't get Cloudflare proxying for this subdomain.
I set it up but my domain isn't working yet.
Double-check that the CNAME value is exactly "cname.vercel-dns.com" with no extra spaces, and that you saved the record. If it's been over 48 hours, email us at hello@happyhearaudio.com and we'll take a look.

Still stuck?

Email us your domain and we'll walk you through it, usually within a few hours.
