Connect an AI assistant

Optional, and off until you set it up. Works with Claude, ChatGPT, or any assistant that supports connectors. Checking on an event usually means opening the dashboard, finding the event, and reading the message list. With Happy Hear Audio connected, you ask instead, and the assistant answers from your account while you keep working.

Setup takes about two minutes and works on every plan, including your free first event.

What it can do

  • Find your events by name, date or status, with the gallery link for each.
  • Tell you how many messages on an event are ready, still cleaning, waiting, or need a look.
  • Start Clean All on an event. It never re-cleans a finished message.
  • Create a new event with a name and date, under the same rules as the dashboard.
  • Change an event’s name or date. Moving the date moves the call-in window too.
  • Tell you whether all the audio on an event is ready, message by message.
  • List any event with a failed, too-short, too-large or unsupported message, or one still cleaning after 30 minutes.
  • Give you the gallery link, and say whether guests need the share code (never the code itself).
  • Report visitors, plays, downloads and the day a gallery was first opened.
  • Tell you which plan you are on, when it renews, whether your free event is used, and how many events you have.

Each of the ten, with what it needs and what it sends back, is on the actions reference.

What it cannot do

The guest messages are the point of the whole product, and they are someone’s grandmother on a voicemail. They stay in your account. The assistant works from event names, dates, status, gallery links and message counts, nothing more, whichever assistant you connect.

  • Hear or read guest messages. No audio, no video, no transcripts.
  • See guest phone numbers, text messages, or names.
  • See gallery passwords, download links, or your call-in event codes.
  • Delete an event or a message.
  • Make, send or email the guestbook PDF. That stays on the event page, because the PDF holds every transcript.
  • Change anything else about an event: branding, player style, call-in dates, sharing settings.
  • Reach another operator’s account. The connection is tied to the login you approve it with.

Things to ask it

Copy any of these into a chat once you are connected. Use your own event names.

  • Which of my events have messages ready?
  • Is anything still cleaning on the Nguyen wedding?
  • Start Clean All on Saturday’s event.
  • Create an event called Rivera 50th on November 14.
  • Move the Patel reception to December 6.

Set it up in Claude

  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Paste this URL: https://www.happyhearaudio.com/api/mcp
  4. Under the advanced settings, paste this client ID and leave the secret blank: 69891a84-9ac8-4161-9de1-2f3f5ba82485
  5. Click Add, then Connect. Claude sends you to Happy Hear Audio.
  6. Sign in with your usual Happy Hear Audio login (email and password, or Google).
  7. Read the permission screen and click Allow. Claude says it is connected and lists the ten things it can do.

URL: https://www.happyhearaudio.com/api/mcp

Client ID (Claude only): 69891a84-9ac8-4161-9de1-2f3f5ba82485

Set it up in ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings, then Connectors. If you do not see a Create button, open Advanced settings there and turn on Developer mode first.
  2. Click Create (on some accounts it reads Add custom MCP server).
  3. Name it Happy Hear Audio and paste this URL: https://www.happyhearaudio.com/api/mcp
  4. For authentication choose OAuth. Leave the client ID and client secret blank: ChatGPT registers itself with Happy Hear Audio.
  5. Accept the notice about custom connectors, then Create. ChatGPT sends you to Happy Hear Audio.
  6. Sign in with your usual Happy Hear Audio login (email and password, or Google).
  7. Read the permission screen and click Allow. In a chat, add the Happy Hear Audio connector from the plus menu and ask away.

URL: https://www.happyhearaudio.com/api/mcp

Client ID: leave blank

ChatGPT moves these menus around now and then. If the labels differ from the steps above, look for the place where you add a custom connector or MCP server; the URL and the OAuth choice are what matter.

Disconnect

  1. In Claude: open Customize, then Connectors, find Happy Hear Audio and remove it.
  2. In ChatGPT: open Settings, then Connectors, find Happy Hear Audio and remove it.
  3. That is it. The assistant loses access to your account. Your events and galleries are untouched. If you cannot find the entry, reply to any email from us and we will revoke it from our side.

Common questions

Which plans include this?
Every plan, including your free first event. There is nothing to switch on in your account.
Will the assistant do things to my account on its own?
No. It only acts when you ask it to in a conversation, and Claude and ChatGPT both ask you to approve each action that changes something (starting a clean, creating an event, renaming one) unless you turn that off on their side. Reading your event list needs no approval.
Can my assistant see another operator’s events?
No. The connection is tied to the account you signed in with, and the database only answers for that account.
Does this cost anything extra?
Not from us. Cleaning started through an assistant is the same Clean All as the button on the event page, so it is included the same way. You need your own Claude or ChatGPT account, and ChatGPT offers custom connectors on its paid plans only.
Can I use an assistant other than Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes, if it supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in. Add the same URL, leave the client ID blank, and it registers itself. You still sign in and click Allow on our side, and it gets the same ten abilities and the same limits. If yours will not connect, reply to any of our emails and tell us which one.
What is recorded when an assistant acts on my account?
Each action is logged with your account, the action, the event it touched, and the time. Nothing from the conversation itself is stored on our side.
